Occupy Psychiatry is sponsoring a protest of the American Psychiatric Association’s 2013 annual conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

On May 19th, MindFreedom International, the Law Project for Psychiatric Rights (PsychRights®), and the California Client Action Workgroup are sponsoring a protest of the American Psychiatric Association’s 2013 annual conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. This protest is being organized under the Occupy Psychiatry Banner.
“The American Psychiatric Association has perpetrated what is almost certainly the largest doctor-caused unnatural disaster in history through its fraudulent promotion of mental illnesses as brain defects and counterproductive, extremely harmful treatments,” says Jim Gottstein, “Because it is so important to hold the American Psychiatric Association accountable for what are really crimes against humanity, I am coming all the way from Alaska to join the effort.”

The Open Paradigm Project, an initiative that fosters new outlets and to document ways of valuing experiences of “madness”, invites participants to forward video taken on cell phones or videocameras, to be edited, together with audio taken from the event’s public address system, into a “crowdsourced” video of the event.
While there is some chance of David Oaks possibly being able to make it after his horrible accident on the first of December, we are facing the prospect of doing this protest without him. David continues to be a great inspiration. Even being almost totally paralyzed David continues to press this mission.
If David is not able to join us, in addition to telling the truth about the fraud of psychiatry and the harm it causes, I will also talk about David’s incredible activism and accomplishments.

Wonderful! I do not buy the “Occupy” mindset but I fully agree with the principle of a peaceful protest at any APA meeting. My thoughts are with all those who are planning to go.

Ask the inflicters of the Billing Codes, Drugs, Disabilities et all, about This.
It’s All documented on Official San Francisco City & County Government Paperwork.
WHY, did SF’s ‘Mental Health’ Board at an Official Government meeting at SF City Hall, make 2 entire Psych Hospitals and their entire staffs, Not-Exist.
What gave those people the idea that what they were doing was NOT a Raft of Federal Felonies?
See if you can get an audience with the SF Department of Public Health, and ask Them, since it was Their responsibility.

Psychiatry Can be backed down, but simply asking it to doesn’t work, because the “Cha-Ching” of the cash register drowns out the complaints of the wounded.
When mindfreedom.org issues an alert, Psychiatry Backs Down rather than take the heat from local Press and Politicians. Psychiatry’s ‘Courage of its own Convictions’ is a a Fraud. If Psychiatry actually believed that its forced treatment were going to Benefit the victim, they’d refuse to Release the victim.

Stonewall is renowned for its campaigning and lobbying. Stonewall has an almost unique framework for a campaigning organisation in that individual stakeholders and donors are not ‘members’. This was part of the organisation’s original vision, in order to protect our capacity to be nimble both politically and operationally. Our Chief Executive has said: “We are not a ‘democratic’ organisation, in that we would never be satisfied to think that a position we took was based on the views of 51% of gay people, while 49% did not agree. We seek to develop all our work, and policy positions where appropriate, by building as wide a consensus as possible among lesbian, gay and bisexual people.”

I didn’t post it to either denigrate or support homosexuality.
The 1st Amendment of MY Constitution States:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
It says nothing about Anyone owning any Right to be protected from being Offended, or protected from speech which is foul and disgusting because if it did we’d have to appoint Arbiters to decide Which speech was Verboten and which speech was Acceptable, and Therein lies the Psychiatric Problem: Psychiatry Violates miles of existing criminal law to decide Which Speech is Verboten as a Sickness.
The homosexual activists succeeded, and DSM-V is coming.
The Psychiatric establishment must be stopped from ILLEGALLY depriving Everyone, straight, gay, black, white, etc, etc, of their Unalienable Rights to Life, Liberty, and Property for their committing the oxymoronic impossibility of Violating the 1st Amendment.
