The Associated Press reports on Fox television and Tufts University psychiatrist Keith Ablow, who routinely diagnoses President Barack Obama without ever having met him, and labels Obama with various mental disorders, “abandonment issues,” and a “victimās mentality.” Other psychiatrists state that they are embarrassed by how Ablow’s practices reflect on the psychiatric profession as a whole.
“Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman, chairman of psychiatry at Columbia Universityās College of Physicians and Surgeons, said Ablow seems more interested in entertaining than in reflecting well on his profession,” reports the Associated Press. “Lieberman is past president of the American Psychiatric Association, which discourages members from speculating on psychiatric characteristics of non-patients.”

AND- some are better than others at finding a good paying gig for themselves as they cheapen and degrade the Medical profession —
Who cares what psychiatrists think of Ablow? I am more interested in why the AMA doesn’t oust this *cult*, and reclaim their respect worthy status.

Sinead,
The AMA doesn’t oust the psychiatrists because, historically, and still today, one of the jobs performed by the psychiatrists is covering up the easily recognized medical mistakes of the incompetent AMA members. My pastor called this the “dirty little secret of the two original educated professions.” (The psychiatrists cover up child abuse for the corporate religions, too.)

If Jeffrey Lieberman (past APA president) is criticizing you for careless use of diagnostic terms, you KNOW you’re way over the line…
