  1. A disease, no. An allergy really is the best way of looking at it.

    You goto the meeting and make friends with the same goal of quitting and that get what your going through.

    You learn how to be around people again without being intoxicated.

    The treatment is not the twelve steps it’s mostly being around other people and having someplace to go instead of a bar or just drinking or getting high if you feel like crap.

    There is a small percentage of AA nut case that go overboard, get all fanatical and piss everyone off, they are the ones that actually created all these AA critics and haters.

    When I read the whole article I will comment further.
