  1. When my mother was in a hospital at 90 years old or so, I accidentally learned that they had put her on haldol. I asked why and it was said that all older adults were given this “to be able to sleep”. I had a terrible time getting her off this in the hospital: no one would listen, they all just accept that this is “hospital policy” and that is the end of the discussion.
