From Forbes: Artificial intimacy has long been a science fiction fantasy and now programs appear that say they deliver it in bits and pieces: a therapy-bot, a sex-bot, a best-friend-for-your-child-bot, a care-bot for grandma. For some this other AI is close to realized. What’s wrong with this? A great deal. These machines say they deliver intimacy but don’t, and along the way they lead us to forget what intimacy entails.
