From Mad in Italy: I have been a nurse for 35 years, but then I saw how it feels on the side of the patients because I got sick and ran into the mesh of health care that overestimates the diagnoses, is too interventionist immediately and resorts to surgery and pharmacological therapies even when there could be a less aggressive medical treatment with non-invasive pathways.
Today I define myself as a survivor of surgical and medical “cures”, especially those antidepressant and anxiolytic drugs that generate physical and psychological dependence.
