Psychiatry Needs to be Rebuilt From The Ground Up

From Mad in Sweden: About 2,500 years ago, the “father of medicine”, Greek physician Hippocrates, formulated requirements for good health care, the so-called “Hippocratic Oath”. Requirements that are still (or at least should be) relevant today. Although rarely used today in its original form, the oath serves as the basis for other similar oaths and laws that define good medical practice and morality. The Hippocratic Oath can be summarized in the following points: NEVER harm; IF POSSIBLE cure; OFTEN relieve; ALWAYS comfort.
