Does Boxing Relieve Stress?

From Mad in the Netherlands: Amira is a medical student at VU University Amsterdam. Together with a psychomotor therapist, she gives boxing workshops for healthcare professionals, where she shares her own experiences with boxing therapy. For her high-school profile project, she investigated whether boxing therapy has a stress-relieving effect, as she clearly experienced in practice. The results of her research confirmed that this was indeed the case. Boxing therapy is getting more and more attention as an intervention for stress and trauma complaints like PTSD. In order to guarantee quality, Amira pleads for a boxing therapist certification.
