From Mad in Finland: I have wasted my entire precious life and health on biomedical psychiatry, and there doesn’t seem to be much left of either. I can’t stand myself, my life, or biomedical psychiatry at the moment, which I know is still churning forward as a machine and treatment system year after year and decade after decade. It continues to destroy lives and people despite the fact that psychiatry and medicine have long known better.
When I read psychiatrist and psychotherapist Janne Kurke’s blog post “Psychiatry, power and science – The ideological support for the use of psychiatric power” on the Mad in Finland website, I understand that I and my life probably didn’t have many opportunities in the end. After all, I practically fell deep into the depths of biomedical psychiatry as a teenager.
