Dr. Monroe specializes in the provision of adult inpatient and outpatient psychological services for persons diagnosed with chronic mental health conditions.His clinical interests include schizophrenia and psychotic spectrum disorders, chronic mood disorders, psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery, personality organization and functioning, attachment and role of adverse and benevolent childhood experiences, and adult general wellness and recovery. He takes an individualized, person-centered, and compassion-focused approach. He practices recovery-oriented work that supports the therapeutic reduction of reliance on medication. He provides comprehensive trauma-informed evaluation and care services within a collaborative and integrative care model of physical and mental health. He is an active member of the American Psychological Association, the International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis, Schizophrenia Internal Research Society, and the Society for Personality Assessment.
