Psychiatrist, ACT therapist (see www.contextualscience.org) and expert psychopharmacologist, particularly in helping very careful, gradual and scientifically founded withdrawal from all psychiatric medications.
As a psychiatrist for over 20 years I am acutely aware of the increasing problems of dependence on psychiatric medication which are so enormously overprescribed and, particularly with the newer drugs, quite clearly causing more harm than good over the longer term. Increasingly part of helping people to live a more rich full and meaningful life involves also assisting them to gradually, carefully and effectively withdraw from problematic executed medication. I will be writing more upon how to do this, using also the benefit of ACT principles, upon the rest and ACT Centre site in coming months.
