When Justina Pelletier, who has been held for more than a year following Boston Children’s Hospital’s decision that she suffered from psychological rather than medical issues, was moved from the hospital to a non-medical facility, her father felt that “justice maybe prevailed.” Now he is breaking the court’s gag order in an interview with Glenn Beck. “We go back the 24th, a week from today, and I want to have all my guns blazing . . . I don’t know how we survived this long.”

I don’t think the parents chose Glen Beck. Beck took an interest in this situation on his own.
There has been discussion of this kind of thing already on MIA. By and large, except for the Boston Globe, mainstream establishment media have been ignoring this. One has to ask why. NPR, for example, has E. Fuller Torrey as a regular guest. They love psychiatry and used to, and maybe still do, get a lot of money from Eli Lilly.
Before someone denounces me as a right-winger, I better tell you that I’m a member of the Green Party and an admirer of Senator Bernie Sanders. By the way, in 1985, when Bernie was mayor of Burlington, Vermont, he spoke at our Conference on Human Rights and Psychiatric Oppression. I would hardly call him an establishment liberal, though.

Totally agree Ted. I am a flaming liberal and my attitude is if Glen Beck is willing to cover this story, that is great. And as you say, it isn’t like this story being covered to death.
Heck, I would be happy if Sarah Palin covered this story as that is how desperate I feel for this family. Beggars can’t be choosers.

I was just looking at the Boston Children’s Hospital website and found a page about drugging kids for the phony disease “oppositional defiance disorder”, below is paste.
Psychiatric medication
In addition to therapy, your clinician may recommend medication to treat your child’s oppositional defiant disorder. There currently are no drugs prescribed specifically for ODD, but certain symptoms of the disorder, when found in conjunction with another disorder, can respond very well to medication in conjunction with psychotherapy (which is also referred to as “talk therapy”).
Drugs that may be prescribed to treat ODD symptoms include:
Stimulants for ADHD
methylphenidate (Ritalin)
dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine)
Antidepressants for depression or anxiety

Drapetomania was a supposed mental illness described by American physician Samuel A. Cartwright in 1851 that caused black slaves to flee captivity, today the same thinking is called “oppositional defiance disorder” and “treated” with brain disabling drugs behind psychiatric locked doors.
Can anyone even imagine the nightmare for a free thinking defiant child to be subjected to psychiatry’s brutal methods of restraints, forced medications, injections and confinement ?
I kind of can a little bit, I was labelled “resistant to medication” and was told more than once I would be forcefully injected (raped) when I refused to swallow the handful of mind disabling pills I was ordered to take for my misdiagnosis of bipolar after psychiatry gave me an addiction problem with Clonopin and lots of other drugs and withdrawals landed me in the hospital with anxiety attacks.
I know what goes on behind those locked doors. The general public doesn’t.
I wouldn’t want to be anyone involved with Justina’s psychiatric kidnapping if she dies cause the law can’t do anything to her father until after he acts.

The press has done a miserable job of covering mental health issues. Lacking is the professional skepticism that is the hallmark of great journalism. I’m not asking for every reporter to be Nelly Bly but only to at question what is asserted.

I know, the press always calls what psychiatry does “help”. What does the general public think happens when a person say’s “no thanks, I don’t like the way that medication makes me feel and don’t want to damage my health” ?
They don’t say “that’s o.k don’t worry about it”, no they use fear based coercion.
Here is an example of how they coerce children.
“A rage outburst was defined as sufficient agitation and loss of control such that the child was unable to “time out” (i.e. sit in a chair for 10 minutes on being told to do so) or was a danger to himself or others and a higher level of intervention was needed. In order to compare the efficacy of medication against usual treatment (i.e. seclusion/restraint), a first rage outburst in the hospital was treated non-medically; that is, the child was placed in an isolation room. The door remained open if the child was able to regain control and take the time out in the room; otherwise the door was closed. If there was a second episode, the child was told “You need some medicine to help you get back in control. Take this medicine or we may have to give you a shot”. If agreeable, the child was given 0.015 mg/kg of liquid risperidone.”

The press puts out stories of child abuse all the time when they find a kid in a messy house with to many pet cats or drinking mother but almost totally ignores what psychiatry does. I don’t get it.

I just keep posting about the fraud and abuse of psychiatry, a person only has to read/hear the truth once to be permanently deprogrammed from a lifetime of lies sold to them by the industries multi billion dollar ad campaigns.
For example most of the public still thinks depression is caused by low serotonin. Even the judge in this case likely believes it.
