IT’S ALL ABOUT CONTROL

Tim Carey, PhD (Clinical Psychology), is a Professor and Director of the Centre for Remote Health (a joint centre of Flinders University and Charles Darwin University) in Alice Springs, Australia. He is a clinician, researcher, trainer, and educator. Dr. Carey conducts a psychology outpatient clinic in the public mental health service in Alice Springs, and his research includes understanding the change process in psychotherapy, developing a patient-led model of service delivery, and evaluating the Method of Levels – a transdiagnostic cognitive therapy. He is the author of numerous journal articles, book chapters, and books including Hold that Thought! Two Steps to Effective Counseling and Psychotherapy with the Method of Levels, and Control in the Classroom: An Adventure in Learning and Achievement. The central theme of his work involves finding ways to help people make their lives be as they want them to be.
