PSYCH DRUG ACTION CAMPAIGN
Edward Opton, JD, PhD, is a full-time volunteer attorney at the National Center for Youth Law in Oakland, California. He and colleagues in the Center’s PsychDrugs Action Campaign are working to reduce harmful uses of psychotropic medications, especially drugs that are used, intentionally or not, as chemical restraints for children in foster care. He is a graduate of the School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, and of Duke University (Ph.D., clinical psychology). He is a co-author of The Mind Manipulators (with A. Scheflin, 1978).
