Links Between Benefits and Mental Ill-Health Could be Recorded

From Vox Political: In a new proposal in the medical journal The Lancet, Kate Allsopp and Peter Kinderman have called for mental health professionals to record psychosocial codes in official NHS records, to show whether a patient is suffering from the effects of social inequality, poverty, or trauma.

“It is well known that poverty and social inequity are major determinants of our mental health, and the United Nations Special Rapporteur characterises mental health care not as a crisis of individual conditions, but as a crisis of social obstacles, which hinders individual rights.

It is important, therefore, that the circumstances that have given rise to distress should be formally recorded alongside the distress itself. Psychosocial codes… incorporate descriptive information regarding adverse life experiences and living environments, but are almost never used or reported in clinical practice or academic publications.”

Given the fact that the “mental health practitioners” have been completely ignoring and dismissing the “psychosocial” causes of distress for decades, especially child abuse, which is a legitimate cause of distress that is NOT cured with drugs. Listing “the circumstances that have given rise to distress should be formally recorded alongside the distress itself” is a good idea.

    Today, “the prevalence of childhood trauma exposure within borderline personality disorder patients has been evidenced to be as high as 92% (Yen et al., 2002). Within individuals diagnosed with psychotic or affective disorders, it reaches 82% (Larsson et al., 2012).”

    It’s likely that the 92% of “borderline” and 82% of “psychotic” labeled people, who are actually child abuse victims, and some or all of the rest may be parents of child abuse victims, all should be weaned off the psychiatric drugs, since “antipsychotics don’t cure symptoms or concerns of child abuse.” Justice does.

    But we can thank today’s “bio-bio-bio,” primarily child abuse covering up, psychiatric system for this Western civilization societal problem.

    When a society has a multibillion dollar, primarily child abuse covering up psychiatric system, those working within that system are indeed empowering the pedophiles, which is not good for the society as a whole. Oops, it appears a big lack of “insight” and “foresight,” on the part of the pedophile empowering “mental health professionals,” exists.
