From Mad in Norway: The Court of Appeal concluded: Inger-Mari Eidsvik’s human rights were violated while she was subjected to compulsory treatment in psychiatric care. The historic ruling was delivered on January 30, 2026, when it was acknowledged that the state is responsible for repeated unlawful forced medication and one instance of isolation of Eidsvik. She finally prevailed after many years of struggle to place responsibility where it belongs. The victory will hopefully put an end to a case that has been an enormous burden throughout Inger-Mari’s adult life. The judgment is not legally binding until the parties have accepted it.
