There’s some good news on this front, actually. There will be a new “parent resources” section going up on the Mad in America site in the near future, curated by Eric Maisel. He’s already built up a wide-ranging list of resources and we’re just needing some design work to get the content up on the site. Look out for it soon.
We’re able to accept both Paypal and also any major credit card, and you can use a card without having to set up a Paypal account. If you have questions about anything donation related, you’re welcome to shoot me an email at [email protected].
Hi Sa — thanks for this idea. Once we bring the “Resources” section of the site back online, perhaps we could curate a list of continuing education resources there, as you and Ron are suggesting.
Hi Stevehein — thanks for the feedback. It’s a balance between giving people enough time to make quick edits for spelling, but not allowing people to edit their comment hours or days later since that can sometimes lead to confusion for people who have already responded to the person’s post. I just went in and increased the time limit, though, since I agree it was too short, especially for editing longer comments. Hope that helps!
And then, as a note, you can find all of the previous personal stories by going to Blogs –> Personal Stories via the main menu. We may bring back a “Best of MIA” category in the future, highlighting older posts that people seemed to find particular resonance with. There are so many excellent posts that have moved through the site over the past few years.
Hi, LavenderSage. You can use the form on the contact page. We’re very open to feedback, and I should say that there are still a number of elements of the site that are works-in-progress.
Hi, Eric. I’ve just sent you an email about how to update your ongoing donation. Briefly, you can either cancel your current subscription and start a new one, or else you can communicate your new donation amount to [email protected] and we can update your current subscription on your behalf. In the future, we’re hoping to set things up so that people can update the amount of their donation directly from their account page.
Thanks very much — both for your financial support and for your kind words.

Hi Oldhead. Yahoo News began linking to this piece soon after it was posted. That’s where most of the views are coming from.

Hi jyotivdeo – The url should be correctly showing up as “2646” now. It should display this way when you share it on Twitter, too.
Oldhead – The recent comments section is working, it’s just updating much more slowly than usual. Our webmaster is looking into it!

This should be fixed now. Thanks for pointing it out.
