FromĀ Yahoo! Finance: Google is launching a new search feature that will help check whether users are depressed. People who make depression-related queries will now receive the prompt: “Check if you’re clinically depressed,” and be invited to take a depression screening questionnaire.

The scale used by Google is the PHQ-9, developed by Robert Spitzer (the architect of the DSM-III) for Pfizer. It has been noted as a factor in the over diagnosis of depression in the UK.
