Dopamine Sensitivity a Result of Psychosis, Not a Risk Factor For It

Researchers in the U.K. found that dopamine synthesis among twins with and without diagnoses of schizophrenia was unrelated to diagnosis, suggesting that excess dopamine is not a marker of vulnerability for schizophrenia.  The results were published in the March, 2011 issue of Psychological Medicine.
