Researchers in Denmark find that the diagnosis of depression in the DSM-IV contains at least 1,497 possible combinations of symptoms, with the potential for multiple diagnoses of depression that have no symptomatology or etiology in common. Their paper is published in the upcoming issue of Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica.
