From Mad in Finland: Mad in the UK recently published a blog about how to avoid diagnosing your child and why: how to work with networks of children with “abnormal behaviour” and support your child in a way that doesn’t require them to be diagnosed or their challenges described in diagnostic language or medical terms. And why it’s important to avoid them. My first thought was to translate the entire blog, but I ended up quoting excerpts from it, summarizing and also adding my own thoughts. The blog brought out some really good perspectives, a lot of important points.
