Our Presentation:
For the last 4 months, Valerie Chronis Bickett has attended the Bay Area Hearing Voices Family Support Group (by Zoom) co-led by Tim Dreby, author and therapist and psychiatric survivor.  She doesn't miss a Monday night even though in Cincinnati, it's late.  The co-leaders do a beautiful job of listening to family members and responding in depth.

Over the past twelve years Tim has been running survivor-led group therapy that encourages participants to share their untold stories of "psychosis" or what he prefers to term special messages crisis. From these experiences, Tim has developed a training that redefines what is commonly termed, "psychosis" into eight components and likewise suggests eight corresponding solution strategies.

Tim will be sharing parts of his training that are aimed at helping supporters join with people who are experiencing or needing to process their emergencies.

The Presenter:   Tim Dreby, MFT is the award-winning author of: Fighting for Freedom in America: Memoir of a "Schizophrenia" and Mainstream Cultural Delusions. He has worked for the last eighteen years in an Intensive Outpatient Program in Oakland California.
