Mental Health Patient Becomes Best Mental Health Nurse

From ABC Australia: Matthew Ball, a mental health nurse with lived experience of hearing voices, psychiatric diagnosis, and hospitalization, was recently named the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses’ Nurse of the Year. Ball founded the Many Voice Collective, a group in which he helps people make sense of and find meaning in psychosis and voice hearing.

  1. Wouldn’t it be great if we could remove the expression “mental health” from the dictionary? I would imagine it the ideal relief for all sorts of “mental disorders”. Removing it from the dictionary though hardly gets us past the surface of the problem. How do we remove it from our lives, that is the question.
