From Mad in Greece: Recently, systemic therapist and sociologist Vasilis Perivolaris participated in an event for Anna Emmanouilidou’s book “From the Asylum Toward Social Emancipation: 1989–2024: 35 Years on the Road” (2025, Nisides Publications), which took place on April 24, 2026. The book chronicles the history and challenges of psychiatric reform in Greece, focusing on deinstitutionalization and social reintegration. Mad in Greece presents Vasilis Perivolaris’s speech, which addresses key aspects and stakes of the movement for a democratic model of mental health, inspired by the book.
