Night of the Hunter by Thirty Seconds to Mars

This week’s Song of the Week was suggested by Kruthika Tehmeed:

“Psychiatric drugs disconnect us from others and that can be hell. I found for myself the only way to cope is to stay pent up until one lashes out in the worst way possible, as a result of that disconnect. This song sums up everything I felt because of psychiatry. To me it feels like it focuses on disdain for one’s parents (psychiatry uses them against us) and the results of that, the disconnecting from anyone else.”

Mad in America hosts blogs by a diverse group of writers. These posts are designed to serve as a public forum for a discussion—broadly speaking—of psychiatry and its treatments. The opinions expressed are the writers’ own.
